9 Veneno Roadsters were built to commemorate Automobili Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. It was first displayed on the deck of an Italian Aircraft Carrier in the Persian Gulf. A fitting location considering its design is in keeping with Lamborghini’s fighter jet inspired design.
The Veneno is named after a 1914 fighting bull that killed a matador. The name was chosen because it embodied the imagery of strength, aggression and speed.
The car is derived from the Aventador and features the same V12 engine. The Veneno contains more carbon fibre than the Aventador shaving 105kg from the cars weight. This combined with other improvements, increases the cars top speed by 4 mph over the Aventador. Lamborghini President Stephan Winkelmann views The Veneno as symbolic of the power of innovation and the thirst to push the limits to create something extraordinary.
