Designed as a competitor to the ever-popular Porsche 911, Aston Martin produced the first Vantage in 2005. Originally supplied as a 4.3 litre V8 engined car, revisions over the years saw the model move up to 6.0 litre V12 alongside many other different variants.
The latest Vantage, released in 2018, has a striking new look and houses a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine. Though it shares a version of DB11’s aluminium structure and its automatic gearbox, it’s very much at the other end of the scale. Whilst the DB11 is known for being a comfy grand tourer, the Vantage is shorter, lighter, and angrier.
The stunning two-seater’s V8 packs a punch, producing 503bhp and a 0-60 time of just 3.5 seconds. Though the Vantage is undeniably rapid, it’s been praised for its responsiveness and handling – not to mention a modest 27mpg when cruising along the tarmac.
