This was the original DB9 model, and although initial thoughts were for it to compete with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche sports models, its main competitors are the Jaguar XKR, Mercedes SL and the BMW 6 series. A couple of minor upgrades have been given to the car since 2004 but it largely retains its original good looks. For travelling long distances this coupe is probably the finest GT model around.
