How You Got A TS20 Conviction Code
A TS20 endorsement is given when you are convicted of failing to comply with double white lines. Double white lines where the line nearest to you is broken means you may cross the lines to overtake if it is safe, provided you can complete the manoeuvre before reaching a solid white line on your side. White direction arrows on the road indicate that you need to get back onto your side of the road. Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid means you must not cross or straddle them unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less. Failure to comply results in a TS20 conviction.
Penalties For Failing To Comply With Double White Lines
If convicted, your TS20 endorsement remains on your driver’s licence for 4 years from the date of the offence. In addition, you will receive 3 points on your driver’s licence. If you acquire 12 or more points within 3 years, you will be banned from driving.
