When the Bentley Bentayga was unveiled it was widely described as putting the sport in sports utility vehicle. As full grown SUV with a W12 engine and twin turbo chargers it offers performance to rival that of most super cars, but this was never its primary asset.
The Bentayga was Bentley’s first step into the SUV market and initially attracted some criticism from purists, wary of Bentley’s attempts to include what appeared to be a Porsche Cayenne in its line up.
It is a testament to Bentleys design and engineering that the Bentayga has weathered its criticism with typical composure. Beyond the shared MLB Evo platform the Bentayga could not be further from a Porsche. The quality of the interior surpasses that of the Cayenne.
Swathes of rich wood, and hand stitched quilted leather surround you all ripe for customisation. The off road capabilities far exceed what would be required of it in day to day driving, but a Bentley should provide the freedom to be spontaneous, and it’s a spirit the Bentayga is firmly in keeping with.
