The Audi Q2 was released in November 2016 ready for the 2017 model year. The Q2 fits into the compact crossover market and is roughly comparable with the Mini Countryman, Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1. The crossover market has been hot in the UK for some time now and Audi offers a vehicle which combines off road looks with practicality and affordability.
The Q2 fits into insurance groups between 12 and 20. The engine sizes range from the entry level 1.0 TSI Litre up to the 2.0 litre TDi diesel. The Audi Q2 includes a number of safety features that contribute to the cars lower insurance grouping. Among them is Audi’s ‘pre-sense front’ which detects other cars and pedestrian and attempts to avoid accidents and reduce severity.
The premium appeal of Audi gives this entry level SUV an appeal to a wider and younger target market than the rest of Audi’s Q range. The R8-esque C pillar blades are customisable, giving drivers freedom to project their personality onto the, car something rival marques lack. Audi’s technological lead also plays no small part in the success of the Q2 with smart phone integration and B&O sound system further cementing its appeal.
